Indian Mound Scout Reservation

What We Offer

We have 2 camps located on beautiful silver lake.  With 10 cabins for rent year round (with the exception of summer camp) we have all you need for a great weekend or longer event.

Who We Are

Indian Mound Reservation (IMR) is named for the Indian mound at the camp in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin off of Silver Lake, and it caters primarily to the council's Cub Scouting program during the summer months and hosts several Cub Scouting day camps. This camp is the primary recipient of Mikano Lodge. Units can rent the cabins and other facilities. The main attractions of the camp include a mine-themed program area, which after a National Service Grant Project from Mikano Lodge in 2005 now includes a panning for gold stream named Turtle Creek. The camp also features a castle and wooden land ship. We are a 2013 Locally Accredited Camp Facility.

All new and exciting this summer 4 day Day Camps and a new Resident camping experience.  Come join us for a once in a lifetime camp experience as a pirate or as a Space Ranger.  Our camp is nationally acredited and is a great place for your con to spend the summer.

Meet Your Summer Camp Director

Hello, everybody!  My name is Joe Hauser, and I am the Summer Camp Director at the Cub Scout Camps.  I joined Scouting over 15 years ago as a Webelos Scout.  I am an Eagle Scout and an active member of the Order of the Arrow (Scouting’s National Honor Society).

I served on camp staff at Indian Mound Scout Reservation from 2005-2007, where I worked as a program staff member and then as the Health Officer and Trading Post Manager.  In 2008 I moved to LeFeber Northwoods Camps and served there for four years as Business Manager and Camp Commissioner.

Work and school commitments required me to step back from full-time summer staff for a few years, but I was fortunate to be able to serve on the National Youth Leadership Training staff as an Assistant Course Director in 2012 and 2013.  Now, I’m very excited to lead an excellent staff at Indian Mound in 2014 to deliver an exciting program for all of our guests!

I graduated in December 2013 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Communications.  When I’m not at school or preparing for summer camp.  In my free time I enjoy reading and spending time outdoors.
